Tanaza now features the possibility to limit the number of concurrent connected users per each SSID.
This allows you to limit the number of people connecting simultaneously, and improve your overall network performance.
The default limit for each SSID is 255, but you can allow for unlimited concurrent users or to a lower number. Consider that this limit is more theoretical than practical, as the ability to surf the web depends more on the bandwidth (that is normally the first bottleneck). The number of concurrent users that are actually able to connect, authenticate (if there’s a captive portal) and then use the Internet depends on the total bandwidth, on the Internet use (light – normal – heavy) and only thirdly on the number of concurrent users set for the SSID.
This feature is available for everyone using firmware 2.7.1 or following ones.
